Big Lake Community Education is all about identifying and meeting real community needs through active citizen involvement, and by utilizing both school and community resources. Community Education seeks to improve the quality of life for residents in District 727 by developing cooperative relationships between the school and community to meet identified needs.
Decisions regarding programs, services, policies, budget, marketing and staffing come from recommendations of Advisory Council members. Community Education Advisory Councils are made up of interested volunteers willing to be actively involved with their community and schools. Advisory Councils include the Community Education Advisory Council, the Early Childhood Family Education/School Readiness Advisory Council, the Kids Club Advisory Council, the High School Youth Development/Youth Service Advisory Board, and the Opening Doors Advisory Council.
Programs and services offered through Community Education include Adult Enrichment and Recreation, Youth Enrichment and Recreation, Adult Basic Education/GED/English Literacy, School Aged Childcare, Early Childhood Family Education, School Readiness/Preschool, Early Childhood Screening, District 727 Census, Adults with Disabilities, Summer Recreation, Monthly District Newsletter and Facility Scheduling. |
