Department of Teaching and Learning
"Quality Learning for Successful Living"
The Department of Teaching and Learning includes all areas related to
curriculum, professional development, instruction, and
assessment. We work very closely with the four buildings in
our district to help them implement their school's goals and
curriculum. Our department is driven by a commitment to
helping our teachers implement research-based strategies, which will
increase the probability that all children will learn. The
curriculum of the Big Lake Public Schools, based on state and national
standards, is designed to ensure that all graduates have mastered the
basics and are prepared for post-secondary opportunities whether that
is college, technical college, or the world of work.
